A scalable Odoo baseline for the launch of MMAVE
Following its spin-off from an existing company, MMAVE needed an independent and cost-efficient ERP solution at short notice. CONSENSO configured Odoo, migrated the relevant master and project data, and connected sales, purchasing, inventory, projects, time tracking, accounting and HR processes on a single shared platform.

Initial Situation
With the spin-off, MMAVE had to build an independent system landscape within a short time. The new company needed to take over existing customer relationships, projects, products and suppliers and continue operations without a lengthy interruption.
A comprehensive enterprise solution such as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics would have been too complex and too costly for the young company. At the same time, a simple accounting solution was not enough, because MMAVE already had to connect several business areas from day one.
Media technology projects involve procuring numerous individual components from different suppliers. Alongside the products, various types of labour also have to be recorded — consulting and project management, technical planning, installation and assembly, configuration, repair and service work, and work billed by actual time spent.
For services to be costed and invoiced correctly, products, projects, working hours, purchasing and inventory have to be connected to one another.
The relevant data from the previous corporate environment also had to be carried over into the new Odoo environment — in particular contacts, customers, suppliers, products and projects.
Solution with Odoo
CONSENSO configured a lean Odoo baseline for MMAVE covering the key business processes of a project- and service-oriented media technology company.
Customer enquiries and sales opportunities are handled through CRM and Sales. MMAVE can create quotations that cover both products and different types of labour and service.
Once an order is placed, the work is organised through Projects and Tasks. Employees record their working hours directly against the relevant projects or customer orders. MMAVE can therefore trace how much effort went into consulting, project management, installation, repair or further technical work.
Time tracking also forms the basis for customer-specific invoicing of time-and-materials and service work.
Purchasing and Inventory were set up so that the components needed for an order can be managed and procured. When a quotation or order is created, it is clear which products are already available and which materials have to be reordered.
Alongside the operational sales, project and logistics processes, CONSENSO also set up accounting, payroll and core HR processes. These include working schedules, permissions and employee administration.
For the launch of the new company, the relevant data from the previous system environment was carried over into Odoo in a structured way. The migration covered contacts and customers, suppliers, products and product information, existing projects and further master data needed to start operations. MMAVE could therefore continue existing business relationships and projects without having to re-enter all the information manually.
